Why hunt fruit

Every great food forest starts with a taste

Matthew Nadu, the Fruit Hunter, holding a freshly cut banana bunch with a machete
Machete in one hand, bananas in the other.

We travel the world chasing fruit: durian in Singapore, marang in the Philippines, dragon fruit in Vietnam, jujube in Cambodia, cacao in Costa Rica, and plenty of strange fruit most Americans never see. Every stop is a story where food, faith and culture meet.

Explore, learn, adapt, taste everything. The hunt is more than the fruit. It's the relationships, the experiences and the adventure, all while giving glory to God for His creation and the people who make it magical.

The Garden of Eden was a food forest, and we believe food can be medicine, with fruit at the heart of it. So we're not only hunting for flavor. We're looking for the nourishment and healing properties God built into fruit and plants, and the traditions that have used them for generations.

What he finds in the field shapes what Bring Back Eden plants for clients: which varieties produce here, which ones are worth the wait, and which ones are only worth the story.

The stories behind the fruit

Every hunt is filmed and photographed by our own team: the growers, the markets, the tables and the fruit itself, from the far side of the world to the Florida dirt.
